There is a time for everything under the sun!

There is a time for everything under the sun!

Reading Time: 2 minutes

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. What do workers gain from their toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-11

This passage of scripture is over 2,000 years ago. Two thousand years of people and families living, dying, marrying, having children. We have faced all kinds of sorrows and joys.

There is comfort in knowing what we have faced is not new. People have endured through so much over history. When I was a child I could not bear the cruelty of man, in school we learned of the Nazi concentration camps and I cried my heart out. I’ve never forgotten those images.

When I learned of the people making discoveries that changed the world my imagination would bring me right back to that time. I still love living history museums where you can step back in time.

I used to day dream about what life would be like in different periods of history. When I became born-again I imagined Jesus as a child, a young man and then as our Savior – I pictured Him at the last supper knowing what was ahead of Him. Looking into the eyes of the Disciples, knowing how they would struggle with what He was about to do. The Word says, Jesus knew the hearts of men and entrusted Himself to no one.

Can you imagine that? Ever felt betrayed by people who love you?

When He walked into the religious leaders who were just waiting to prosecute Him, He knew their positions and how misled they were, they were overcome with jealousy. They actually hated Him. But He knew this too must take place just as it was prophesied.

Yes, the Master of the Universe surely knew all that lay before Him. Yet He gave Himself over because He was and is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

What Solomon didn’t quite understand (because he didn’t live during the time of grace) is this time was set before eternity, this man was born to die, this Savior laid down His life once for all to shed His perfect spotless (without sin) blood to pay for all of humanity’s sin!

There was only one! One appointed time, One appointed Man, One Savior that would be The reconciliation between God and man.

The Lord Jesus Christ ! He always was and always will be for He is eternal!

And He eternally loves you! So trust Him today, as Savior, as Friend, as Provider and Healer and all that you need! He is our Savior ❤️
