We All Need a Savior!

The good news is that you have a Savior!

It doesn’t matter how old you are, how you’ve lived your life, or what you’ve done or not done! Every single person that has been born into this world was born in a state of sin. You see you don’t have to wait until you’ve done something wrong – it’s the state you were born into.

When Eve bit into that fruit in the garden of Eden and then she offered it to her husband, who also bit into it, they died spiritually. The part of them that had complete fellowship with God had died. That’s why when God asked the question, “Where are you?” Adam and Eve hid from God. They suddenly knew they were naked and realized that they had given in to the temptation of Satan. You may wonder as I did why was this such a big deal?

It was one piece of fruit from one tree.

Why was God so hard on them? Think about this; God had created Adam for one reason- to have fellowship with Him. He provided everything for Adam. The world was perfect. It flourished and God gave it all to Adam including a wonderful partner, Eve. He gave them all authority over the earth. They had everything.

Previous to Adam and Eve being created, Satan, God’s covering angel (he was at God’s very throne), was created by God. He was spectacular, he was beautiful and filled color and with music. He was quite an incredible creation and apparently only one made like him. Satan decided he wanted that throne. He would rebel and fight for that throne. He was determined to take it! He actually wanted to raise his throne above God’s throne, meaning he really thought he was better than God! Wow!! Can you imagine that!! He wanted to take the place of the One who created him! God could have destroyed Satan but He didn’t. There was a Great War in heaven the Bible tells us and Satan was thrown down to earth with 1/3 of the angels who rebelled right along with him.

So, when Adam and Eve listened to Satan rather than God, they sided with Satan, they stood with him! They believed his lie which was that God was withholding something wonderful from them. Of course it was not true! God was protecting them by warning them, “do not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you can eat of every other tree in garden (including the tree of Life) but not that one, for in the day you eat of it you shall surely die.” And die they surely did. They died spiritually and they also began to age and eventually die physically.

When Satan was thrown down to earth he did not have dominion. He was not the ruler over the earth. Adam and Eve were given that holy place and that dominion. However when they turned from God and stood with Satan – Satan got part of what he was really after, their authority! Satan stepped into the place of influencer for evil in the lives of mankind. Now God cursed Satan and said on the ground he would crawl on his belly and he would eat the dust of the ground. The dust is what Adam was made of and God told Adam as part of the consequence of his rebellion he would physically die and to dust he would return. God was essentially telling Satan you will never be like man even in this state. You will only be able to touch the dust but never be made like a man!

Two other very important truths are seen which will have eternal impacts.

1) God told the serpent that he would ultimately be defeated by Jesus.

2) God Himself made the very first sacrifice and covering for sin. The first was when God said, and I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her Seed. He shall bruise you on head, and you shall bruise Him on the heel. Think about this- does a woman have a seed? No, the man has the seed. God was telling of the virgin birth. Her seed is Jesus! When God said “He shall bruise you on the head” is a death blow, “you will bruise him on the heel” signifies death on a cross as the blood sinks to the feet and indeed they are bruised! The second showed the way from the very beginning that God would accept a way for us to be forgiven. Because there is life in the blood, an innocent animal had to be sacrificed and the blood of the animal was for the washing away of sin. At this point they wore the skins to cover their nakedness because the blood of bulls and goats could never take away the sin of the world, only the one and only Son of God, the Lamb of God could do that! God’s Word says without the spilling of innocent blood there is no forgiveness of sin. Just so you know, it’s very interesting to understand the way the Jewish people sacrificed the animals so very long ago- very humanely. The main vein was cleanly cut which immediately caused no pain to be felt by the animal- unlike our Savior who endured the cross that we might have forgiveness of sin. You see we have a Savior!

He was with God in the beginning.

He is the Creator and the One who holds all things together.

He is the Lion (King) and the Lamb (sacrifice). He is everything we need!

Oh praise God, praise God, the sacrifice that occurred over 2000 years ago is still saving lives today! All those in the past that believed He would come and all of us today that put our trust in Him are saved. Our sins are forgiven and we actually are filled with the Holy Spirit! Oh, how wonderful! People have been trusting in this Jesus for over 6,000 years since Adam and Eve, since Abraham and Sarah all through time to today right now. If you have never trusted Jesus as your Savior I invite you, God invites you to receive His son and you will forever be in His kingdom, the kingdom of Light!!

You are now a sister (or brother) IN Christ!

Your name is written in Lamb’s Book of Life and I’ll see you if not on earth then in heaven! God bless you, we love you! Send us a message and you can know we will pray for you!
