I had started helping my granddaughter by watching her little daughter while she worked. The transition of her leaving the little one was a passing off of responsibility and care. Being a Mom at 16, now 17, my granddaughter had shown her maturity through the pregnancy, the birth and the care of her newborn child up to these recent days of leaving her while she went to work. The sweet, little great granddaughter was now 16 months old.
At first the “hand off” was not easy. There was a lot of reassuring needed and then making a break for it. After a few times the little one realized I loved her and cared for her almost as good as her Mommy. Trust had been developed. She would open her arms to come to me instead of clutching her Mom.
Whether it’s your child or something else that has you concerned or burdened you can put it into God’s hands and go about life trusting Him. If you need to do that and choose to there is a simple prayer to guide you below.
I believe You love me and care about what concerns me. In the name of Jesus, I make the decision to cast my cares on You knowing that You will sustain me; You will never let the righteous fall. Lord Jesus, Your yoke is easy, and Your burden is light. I will learn from You Who walked this earth. I let go of _________________________ and say thank You in advance for taking care of this. I choose to TRUST YOU as I hand this to you. Thank You for helping me. Thank You for giving me direction and hope in this situation. Thank You for Your goodness and love. AMEN
