GROW UP and become like children

Reading Time: < 1 minute

We are encouraged to mature and “grow up” spiritually in the Bible . (1 Peter 2)

We do that as we grow in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10) and put what we learn into practice. At the same time we are told in Matthew 18:3 “unless you change and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven”.

So grow up but be like a child. They seem opposite don’t they? But actually the more you know God, who He is, His character, His love for you, the more you trust Him. As we mature spiritually we trust more and more. That is childlike faith. Trusting God with all your heart. Trusting His promises. Believing His Word. As we learn and trust we mature in the process and bear fruit that lasts. (John 15:16) Being childlike is referring to our heart’s attitude. As we get revelation of the “BIGNESS” of God and what was accomplished through His Son , Jesus Christ, and the gift of His Spirit living in us, we can’t help but be thankful for His grace, love and provision. He is our wonderful , loving, heavenly Father and we like children can run to Him and He will always gather us in His arms.
