Focus, Woman, Focus

Reading Time: 2 minutes

When I was delivering my first child I had practiced Lamaze techniques of breathing and having a focal point so I could relax and help my body do what it was made to do – – – give birth. I remember finding a spot to focus on each time the labor pains would start to build and I would do the appropriate breathing for that stage of labor. It helped. When my child was delivered I felt a great sense of accomplishment as I said to myself “You did it!” The labor pain was over and I had one of the greatest blessings in life in my arms. It had been worth it all. My body had some healing to do because during the natural childbirth I had torn. I had my blessing but there was still steps of healing I had to go through as a result of childbirth.

Our lives in Jesus Christ are like that birthing process and healing. We get born again and have become a new creation in our spirits but our souls still need healing. Our new birth starts the process of God helping us from the inside out. We have the blessing of being born again, saved, and are now a child of God and yet a process here on earth has to be walked out.

When our focus is Jesus Christ and our eyes are kept on him it helps us have direction and hope when life is painful. He brings healing to our souls and His Word renews our thinking as we are being transformed by Christ in us instead of conforming to the world.

Romans 12:2

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

So as we keep our eyes on Jesus and let His Word, the Bible, go into our hearts He will perfect our faith. “Focus, Woman, focus” and watch your faith grow!

Hebrews 12:2

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
