Be Ready

Reading Time: 3 minutes

There is chatter and a constant buzz in circles asking the question “Are these the end times?”. Here are some scriptures that tell what it will be like in the “last days”.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.

2 Peter 3:3-4 Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”

Matthew 24:7-8

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.

Matthew 24:42-44

Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

A better question than “Are these the last days?” is “Are we ready?”.

How can we be ready?

First, be SAVED through Jesus Christ by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that God sent him and He is Lord.

Next, stay close in your relationship with Him through prayer and reading your Bible.

NOW walk in faith believing what His Word says and trusting and applying His words to your life.

Last, rest in Him through trust. Rely on Him by calling on His name every day. Live in forgiveness from Him and to others. Keep your heart tender and open by staying humble loving Him and others as you walk guided by the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit’s voice will always line up with the scriptures testifying of Jesus Christ. That is why it is so important to learn scripture for yourself. God is with you. He loves you so. He provides. He is for you! I’m looking forward to seeing you on the other side of this life living our eternal life in Christ. We live in exciting times. He is close.
