Praise & Admiration – God is Worthy

Reading Time: 2 minutes

This is a blog dedicated to the founder of EVE Womens Ministry, Linda Blechinger. I value and hold Linda in high regard not because she is so great (even though I think she is) but because she has let God be so great through her. Her testimony is amazing. If you read it when she posts it on here you will be inspired. As her sister-in-law, I have seen her weak yet God made her strong. I probably could not tell everything I’ve seen God do in and through her life but I will focus on three scenarios that were difficult events in her life since I’ve known her. The first was when Linda and her husband Dan’s second born son, DJ was born with heart disease and graduated to heaven at the early age of 4 1/2 years old. She was a young mother who loved her family and chose to draw closer to God as a new believer in Jesus Christ.

In her book Mourning to Morning, Linda shares in depth about her family’s story during this time. I watched her give 24/7 extensive care to DJ and the rest of the family while Dan had to travel out of country often for his work. DJ had numerous surgeries. The wear and tear on them both very rarely was obvious to others because of their choice to rejoice in each day’s blessings. I saw their family walk through the heart wrenching time of grief missing their DJ with continual turning to God to help them.

The second one was years later when Linda fought and won in a battle with bladder cancer. The pain she went through was excruciating. I personally heard her cry out in prayers of faith and scripture as she believed God for her healing. The third and most recent was her husband Dan being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer (lymphoma) and graduated to heaven to be with their son, DJ , in glory. Dan was gone at age 57. She was now a young widow. Even though there was some wrestling with “why ?” because there was great faith that Dan would come through and live but didn’t, I watched her daily ask God to help her. She praised Him through it all. She worshipped God with all her heart and searched the scriptures. She prayed and helped others during all of these things. I personally heard people say to her “Linda, you look beautiful with a glow about you” even though inside she felt numb and her heart hurt so deeply. She knew it was Jesus they were seeing. The Jesus in her. The Jesus that loved her and them. The Jesus that never leaves us or forsakes us. That is who she gave the glory to through these three events. God was with her. God made her an overcomer by being her strength through life’s trials. He had made her beautiful to behold because He is beautiful to behold.
